<p>WAHL PROFESSIONAL, the manufacturers of hair clippers are changing tact by teaching young people in the community on better ways to enter the hairstyling business and ensuring their product is maximized in cutting good looking customers. This has been done with the participation of Blessed is the hand that gives’ Phakamisa project. Fifteen unemployed youth are participating in a barber training skills that takes place every Monday at Blessed is the hand that gives church for fifteen weeks. On January 15 WAHL engaged twenty street barbers into the initiative to cut hair for free. WAHL will give free coupons to 220 learners from Eastbank High and where they will get a free haircut on 22 January. The WAHL Clipper Corporation manufactures grooming products like clippers, trimmers, shavers, ear nose brows, nail clippers, wet goods, brushes, hair dryers and combs. “We are in the business of grooming.</p>

<p>We seek to uplift the community and pass on the skills that could enable people to generate money. The skills that they acquired here will assist them in setting up their small barber business,” Jason Knight, manager at WAHL said. Pat Knight, the director of WAHL said they are looking to aid barbers to grow their business and open salons. “Alexandra is on our doorstep and we felt the need to start here before we can go to other townships.” She said. One of the trainees, Moses Letsholo said the training is going to enable them to open a small business where they are going to implement the skills acquired. Letshola was unemployed before he enrolled in the training. “I’m thankful for WAHL for granting us an opportunity to uplift our lives.” The trainees learn the basics of cutting hair from how to handle the machine to cutting theoretically and practically. The training goes for 15 weeks and certificates will be awarded after completion.</p>
