Cricket - KAGISO RABADA completed his second five-wicket haul of the match and his third 10-wicket haul overall as the Proteas beat Bangladesh by an innings and 254 runs in the second Sunfoil test match that finished in three days at the Mangaung Oval on Sunday. It gave them a 2-0 series victory as they now prepare for the three-match Momentum ODI series starting at the Diamond Oval on Sunday. Andile Phehlukwayo, playing in only his second test match, returned with his career best figures of 3/36 to complement the maiden test century that fellow series debutant Aiden Markram had made in the same match.Rabada finished with the match figures of 10/63 to take him past the mark of 100 test wickets in only his 22nd test match. Only Vernon Philander and Dale Steyn are among the South Africans who have reached this landmark quicker while he is joint third on the SA alltime list alongside Allan Donald and Hugh Tayfield.

He is also the leading wickettaker in the current calendar year with 54 dismissals. Both Bangladesh innings lasted fewer than 43 overs as they were unable to cope with the pace and bounce of the South African attack. Rabada was named Sunfoil Man of the Match and Dean Elgar Sunfoil Man of the Series. The second Test match raised a total of R193 000 for the Sunfoil Education Trust (SET), bringing the total for the series to R417 500.

Football - Bafana Bafana revived their qualification hopes by beating Burkina Faso 3-1 in Group D FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualification on Saturday at FNB Stadium, Johannesburg. Three first half goals from man of the match Percy Tau, Themba Zwane and Sibusiso Vilakazi revived Bafanas fading hopes. The referee blew the halftime whistle with Bafana Bafana leading 3-0 in the encounter. Coach Stuart Baxters charges have to win all their two remaining games and hope that Burkina Faso and Cape Verde draw in their last game for South Africa to qualify for Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup. Bertrand Traore reduced the deficit with a superb free kick in the second half.

Senegal and Bafana Bafana have two matches left with the replay between South Africa and the Lions of Terranga scheduled for the 10 of November in Polokwane while the final match will be played in Senegal. Meanwhile, Senegal defeated Cape Verde 2-0 to move on top of Group D. The Super Eagles of Nigeria and seven times champions Egypt have both qualified for Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup with one more round to go. Nigeria defeated Zambia 1-0 to become the first team to qualify and Egypt qualification still, hangs in balance following the appeal filed by Ghana to FIFA to replay the match against Uganda. However, should Ghana appeal fail, Egypt would qualify while the Black Stars will crash out of the world cup.
