<p><strong>FOOTBALL </strong>– Bidvest Wits defeated the 10-man Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 to advance to the final of the Telkom Knockout Cup on Saturday afternoon at Bidvest Stadium in Braamfontein. The Clever boy’s striker James Keene scored the only goal of the game to secure a spot in the final of the Telkom Knockout challenge. Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs was dealt a huge blow with the sending off of Wiseman Meyiwa in the first half. The mighty Amakhosi are yet to win a cup since coach Steve Kompela took over the coaching reigns from Stuart Baxter. In the second semi-final, Bloemfontein Celtic defeated Polokwane City 4-3 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 in extra time at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday. Substitute Tshegofatso Mabaso opened the scoring for ‘Phunya Selesele’ while Rendani Ndou equalised for ‘Rise and shine’ with a header in the final minute.</p>

<p>Celtic keeper and captain Patrick Tinyemb helped the team to beat Supersport United in the quarterfinal. The Cameroonian single handily delivered Celtic the final of the Telkom Knockout challenge. Bloemfontein Celtic will play Bidvest Wits in the final of the Telkom Knockout challenge in Princess Magogo Stadium in Kwa Mashu, KZN on the 2nd December 2017, kick-off 18h00. CAF – TP Mazembe defeated Supersport United 2-1 in the CAF Confederation Cup first leg on Sunday at Stade TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi, DRC. Supersport United youngster Sipho Mbule scored a crucial away goal that might come back to help Matsatsantsa claim the continental trophy.</p>

<p>Matsatsantsa a pitori missed easy goal scoring opportunities and the main culprits were Bradley Grobler and Dove Wome. The South African team played the match missing key players due to suspension in captain Morgan Gould, Tebogo Mokoena and Reneilwe Letsholonyane. The home side opened the scoring from Adama Traore and Daniel Nii Adjei secured the victory for Mazembe. The CAF Confederation Cup second leg will be played on Saturday at Lucas Moripe Stadium in At tridgeville, Pretoria.</p>
