<p><strong>Football </strong>– Orlando Pirates recorded their first victory under the head coach Rhulani mokwena following a 2-1 win over Chippa United on Saturday night at Orlando stadium. A brace by new striker Tshegofatso Mabasa earns win since coach Milutin Sredovic left the club to take up head coach position at Zamalek. The Buccaneers unfortunately lost out in the CAF Champions League and MTN 8 Competition respectively. Chippa United defeat saw head coach Clinton Larsen lost his job after the match. Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs suffered the first defeat of the season following 1-0 loss to Polokwane City on Saturday evening at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. The Captain Jabulani Maluleka scored the only goal of the match after Charlton Mashumba was fouled inside the box by Daniel Akpeyi.</p>

<p>Maluleka stepped up and converted from the spot kick. Amakhosi threw everything at Polokwane City, however their defence remain resolute. The Polokwane keeper Chibwe was named man of the match for denying Kaizer chiefs an equaliser. In the KZN derby, golden Arrows and Amazulu shared the spoils while Supersport United was held 3-3 by Cape Town city on Saturday at Mbombela stadium. On Sunday, Baroka Football Club defeated Black leopards 2-0 in the Limpopo derby at Thohoyandou Stadium. Bloemfontein Celtic came from goal down to beat Stellenbosch 2-1 on Sunday at Dr Molemela stadium in Bloemfontein.</p>

<p><strong>Rugby</strong> - Trevor Nyakane is expected to be fit and available for selection for the Springboks’ opening Rugby World Cup match against New Zealand on 21 September, Springbok management confirmed on Sunday. The tight head prop sprained a knee during the 41-7 victory over Japan in Kumagaya on Friday and was limited to a 14-minute appearance. Nyakane made a scheduled return to South Africa on Saturday to be with his wife for the birth of their child this week. He will arrive back in Japan on Friday. The Springboks transfer from their training base in the south east corner of Japan on Saturday to Tokyo where they will be greeted at an official welcome ceremony in Urayusu City. It will mark the beginning of the next stage – match week against New Zealand – in a carefully mapped campaign by Springbok management. #ABCgamechangers</p>
